Dear TJO2 Supporters,

Seven years ago today The Journey of 2 began serving the Lord in Roatan, Honduras.  We have served the Lord here in San Isidro, Costa Rica for almost a year now.  The journey continues.

This past month has been a month of some interesting developments, and some really frustrating trials.

Jamie has gotten more involved with the Red Zone ministry in San Jose.  She also started teaching English to a new student.  Pricilla is an 18 year old girl with what Jamie, and others, see as a lot of potential.  Learning English will help her improve her options of getting a job that will make it possible for her to fully support herself.

Tonight, Jamie will begin teaching two more new students, both in our Bible Study group.

As I mentioned in last month’s report, I have begun helping another missionary with some maintenance on the property he and his wife manage.  The property is used to train missionaries before they head out to wherever God sends them.  There are several buildings on the property.  Some for housing, some meeting/training and some for various other uses.

A team came a couple of weeks ago and re-tiled the bathrooms in two of the cabins.  I have been sanding and varnishing the bathroom cabinets and then repainting the bathrooms.  I sure could use some help.  So, if you’re looking for a mission…

I have also recently started going to the Red Zone with Jamie.  I pretty much stay in the back of the facility and do maintenance while Jamie, and the other women on staff, serve the needs of the red zone ladies.  A couple of weeks ago our Bible Study group had a clean-up day at the RZ facility.  Our group plans to go there every six weeks or so to make improvements to the facility.

As you may remember, our Bible Study group had begun helping Juan Pablo and his family.  Thanks to you all,  and others, we were able to provide a bicycle to Juan.  He was also able to obtain a weed-eater that is in fair shape.  Through the funds our group raised we were able to supply the family with several weeks of food as well as some school supplies.  Most recently, Juan has been able to find work weed-eating various properties within bicycle range.  We will continue to keep you updated on how this family is doing.

As I noted at the beginning of this report, Jamie and I have been experiencing some frustrating trials.  Some trials have had to do with broken appliances in our apartment; such as the dryer that we bought less than a year ago quit working and we’ve spent the last six weeks trying to get the company to repair it.  However, it’s the spiritual warfare that is the real trial for us.  Attacks on our marriage.  Attacks on our health and attacks on the ministries God is having us serve in.

Jamie and I ask for you prayers in these areas.  As always we will continue to serve our Lord Jesus Christ to best of the abilities He has given us.  However, we know that we are most effective when we have people praying for us.

As always, if God leads you to start or continue supporting us financially, TJO2 is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit tax-deductible ministry.  We would really appreciate your monthly giving or a one-time donation. You can use the PayPal option either through our email or blog or mail your donation to:

Ronnie and I like to go on walks everyday. Today we walked in an area we haven’t been in in awhile. So we found an empty house we were looking at and a new apartment building being built…as we were walking an 8 yr old boy on his bicycle was following us. he ask me what we were searching for and I told him just looking at houses and apartments etc. so he kept following us and staring at us. I was chatting a little with him. So we were leaving that area and I told him good bye and we starting walking back towards out house. he said wait, I have a question – okay…what country do you live in, so I told him we live here just on the next street…so he stares for awhile and says hmmm okay. so he is the one from another country because he doesn’t speak Spanish. hahahahaha poor Ronnie he is always the “foreigner” I was excited because maybe my Spanish is improving !!! =) =) =)

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Prayer Request Update

thank you for your prayers. I thought I would update you on some of the requests. #1 – we HAVE HOT WATER!!! we had to hire an outside person and purchase ($250) a new unit but we have the water. We trust the guy who put it in…I do understand that hot water isn’t a requirement for renting BUT the apartment came with hot water when we moved in. All is well though.

#2 nothing is new on the dryer – still no one has come to repair it. On Monday I’m going with my friend Ivonne to speak with the place we purchased it (they aren’t the problem but they can complain to the whirlpool dealer who is) . PRAISE GOD it has been warm and sunny so we can dry clothes on the outside line we have.

#3 nothing new here

#4 nothing new here.

thanks again for your faithful prayers for us. As some of you know I am involved in a ministry for the Red Zone. I would like to ask you to pray for all the women/transvestites in the program but I am specifically asking you to lift up someone named “Shirley”. Please pray she and her partner accept the Lord fully and wholly and can change their lives and be an influence on those that need to find the Lord and change their lives.
