Dear TJO2 Supporters:

Praise God, we have working electricity.  Just in time for the start of the hot season here in Apache Junction.

In a way, it was sort of nostalgic for us.  In Costa Rica, Honduras, and even Show Low we were use to no electricity for various periods of time.

As per the norm of such events, literally a week after we had the new electric panel installed, a guy from Fusion Solar came by and said they would pay for a new electric panel if we decided to install solar panels.  “Dude, you should have come by last week!”

Our move-in ready house has turned out to be not so ready.  We’ve been through a long list of repairs and upgrades.  As in many cases, when you change ownership and do an upgrade, the powers at be require the change to be ‘up-to-code.  In the case of the electric we ended up needing two new panels; a main and a sub panel.

Now, in the case of the septic, the tank has to be abandoned and we have to connect to city sewer.  Sounds sort of simple until we learned that the neighbor behind us built their wall in the middle of the easement, which means the city’s main is in their backyard.  Thus far they have not responded to request from the sewer contractor for access to their backyard.h

Enough about our personal saga, here’s what’s happening with the journey of The Journey of 2:

Maynor has chosen an elderly widow as the recipient of TJO2’s next project.  Jamie will be posting some pictures on our Facebook and Blog to introduce this sweet lady and why she is in need.

Both Maynor and German have continued to buy food and deliver it to people in need in their community.  German has used some of the funds to help the church he attends.

Jamie and I are excited to announce that German and his girlfriend have gotten married!  As some of you know, getting married in Honduras is quite a process, which is rather costly.  Soon after both German and his now wife accepted Jesus as their savior they decided they needed to be officially married.

The Lord has led them to not only physically helping those in their community, but also helping people spiritually.  God is faithful and He is good.

German has also recently started college again after the school’s short break.

We ask that you lift our friend, Carmen, in prayer.  She recently lost a dear aunt to cancer.  Like many Hondurans, she could have survived if she had access to healthcare.  So sad.  Carmen’s aunt was a center pillar of the family.  Never married with no children, she spent her life helping others.

Jamie mailed all the bras and underwear she had received  to the “Free The Girls” organization.  As we have reported, human trafficking has been a horrible plague in this world for far too long.  Free the Girls provides a way out for women but is totally dependent on the willingness of those willing to donate new and or used bras and underwear.

Jamie plans to do another bra drive soon.  Please keep this in mind and when you receive notice of the newest drive, please respond however God leads you.

As always, Jamie and I are committed to the mission statement of The Journey Of 2, which is “To provide food, water, physical and spiritual help to those in need”.   God leads us in our journey and He works through us according to His will.

TJO2 is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit tax-deductible ministry.  Any donation will be much appreciated. A one-time donation, or, if God leads you to monthly support, that would be great too.  You can use the PayPal option either through our email or blog or mail your donation to:

Bra donations

Thanks to you all and your donations we were able to change a woman’s life. 100 bras and 46 Sundays are being shipped to Free The Girls

Morning Prayer: Father, help us to own our nervous behaviors and make necessary adjustments. We don’t want to just switch our outside behavior, but we want to resolve, with your help, our inside conflict. We need our frayed nerve-endings knit back into place, something we acknowledge only you can do. Amen
