June Update

July 2, 2020

Dear TJO2 Supporters,

Yesterday, I realized that I forgot to post our monthly report on June 25th.  I opened it back up and rewrote it to include the present.

As of this week we have sold almost everything we have.  All that is left for sale is a card table and eight folding chairs.  All of which were used for Jamie’s English class students.

Our plan is to bring six suitcases with us to the States, one is my surfboard.  This is less than what we brought with us from Roatan.  At least one of the suitcases will contain Jamie’s teaching supplies, including her TEFL notebooks.  She plans to continue teaching her students via the internet.  Very much like the Spanish lessons she will also continue to take on Baselang via the internet.

Due to all that is going on in the world, Jamie and I strive to not watch the news.  We’ve also limited what we view on Facebook.  We prefer to cling to the fact that God is still in control, regardless of all the truly misinformation proliferating the media and the internet.

Jamie and I truly believe God has put us on the path of returning to the States.  We understand this is His will for us.  Therefore, one way or the other, God will bring us to the States.  How and when is what is stressing us right now.

We have given our notice to our landlord, which means we have to be out of the apartment on July 15.  The person who has bought our bed is picking it up on the 14th, so one of our friends is letting us spend the night at her apartment.

We have to go to San Jose on the 13th to turn in our internet box.  Not really excited about going into town two days before we leave but it’s required.  They will not come and get it.   Fortunately, our neighbor said we can use her internet to do an on-line check-in the day before our flight to insure our seats.

Jamie and I are asking all of you to remember us in your prayers, particularly throughout the next two weeks.

Pray specifically:

·         That our flight does not get cancelled

·         That all our luggage is accepted

·         The we and our luggage make it to Phoenix

·         That we do not have any issues at customs at our first stop (Atlanta).

·         That we catch our connection from Atlanta to Phoenix

·         That we are able to maintain our sense of peace, joy, contentment and oneness with each other with Christ.

God says to be specific, so that is what we are doing.

During our preparations for returning to the States we have also continued to serve the Lord here in Costa Rica as best we can.

While the restrictions ended Jamie’s students for coming to class at our apartment, she has been able to continue teaching via the internet.

Since we are not able to serve in the Red Zone we have stepped up our cash donations to the ministry here as well as to ministries and people in Roatan.  Praise God for this for it is an even bigger need now for those who are being prevented from working. All of our donations (that you have donated) are going to feed those in Roatan (Sandy Bay) and the Red Zone here in San Jose.

In Roatan we send funds, via PayPal to Nic VanZee.  He uses the funds to buy food for people that he prepares and serves in the tradition of the soup kitchen style.

We also PayPal funds to Light in the Dark Ministries run by the Trawicks.  They also solely use the funds to purchase food and make food bags, the same as TJO2 did many times while living there.

In addition, we are still sending funds to our friend, Carmen.  Many of you know Carmen and her family.  Carmen has to sneak out to clean houses in order to provide for her family.

Most recently we sent funds to Jamie’s last adult student she taught in Roatan.  Maynor has a good job where he is still able to work.  He expressed to us how he had been doing his best to do food bags for some of his neighbors.  Since we very much trust him, we are sending him funds for food bags.

Here in San Isidro, I (Ron) have continued to serve at the Missionary Training Center.  I have increased the days and amount of time each day that I serve.  My time is short, so I am trying to help as much as possible.

As I noted in our previous report, after a short time of rest and some traveling in the States, we do plan to continue allowing God to work through The Journey Of 2.

In our future reports we will explain the path that, we believe, God will be placing us on.

Jamie and I want to thank all of you who have continued to support TJO2 as we serve our Lord, Jesus Christ.

As we begin this next part of our journey, we hope you will continue to follow and support TJO2.

As we have always stated, TJO2 is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit tax-deductible ministry.  Any donation will be much appreciated. A one-time donation, or, if God leads you to monthly support, that would be great too.  You can use the PayPal option either through our email or blog or mail your donation to:
