Welcome to this week’s update on The Journey Of 2.  Jamie and I appreciate all of you who take the time to follow our journey as we serve God in Costa Rica.

Did I mention before that we are very happy that the rainy season has started?  The weather this time of year is wonderful here.  It rains in the afternoon almost every day, but the rain also brings warmer weather.  So even when it’s raining, it’s nice.

A couple of weeks ago I told you about the sleeping bag we gave to Willie.  Nope, the bag is gone.  No way of knowing if he just didn’t want it or if someone took it from him.  I have decided to stick with helping Willie only as God leads me.

A couple of weeks ago we enjoyed a visit from one of our fellow workers at Casa Esperanza.  Technically, she’s our boss that the center.  October 3 she will have an operation.  She will need someone to look after her while she recuperates.  Jamie and I have offered to do so by having her stay in our apartment after her operation.  She stayed with us this past weekend to, sort of, test us out to see if she, and us, would be comfortable with the arrangement.  We all believe it will.

We do have something we are asking for prayer for.  When we returned to Costa Rica after our last immigration rule to renew our visas, the immigration officer gave us a hard time about re-entering Costa Rica.  There is a movement in CR to get rid of all the “permanent tourist”.  That’s what they are calling people who live here and leave for three days every ninety days to renew their visas.

You may remember that when we first looked into obtaining residency here, they told us there was a moratorium due to the vast number of Nicaraguans entering the country.

We have contacted a lawyer here to see what our current options are.  There is a possibility that we could obtain residency, or at least apply for it, in the near future.  We need your prayers in this to discern what God’s will is in this matter.

Please continue to follow our journey as we serve the Lord in Costa Rica.

Evening Scripture:

“When I consider your heavens,

the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,

which you have set in place,

what is mankind that you are mindful of them,

human beings that you care for them?

You have made them a little lower than the angels

and crowned them with glory and honor.

You made them rulers over the works of your hands;

you put everything under their feet:

all flocks and herds,

and the animals of the wild,

the birds in the sky,

and the fish in the sea,

all that swim the paths of the seas.

Lord, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!”

Psalm 8:3-9

I believe the Lord is leading me to a little sewing “business” to help a few of my friends that work in the red zone. you all donated $ to buy one sewing machine and part of another one. if the Lord allows all of this I will need funds for two more sewing machines. Please join me in prayer regarding all of this, the adventure would be through “Better Way”, you can look up their videos on YouTube… thanks again for continuing to follow our adventures and for donating and helping us work as the Lord directs our paths and help us to continue to be faithful and listen carefully.

fyi: this is just a random photo of a sewing machine taken off google =)
