Welcome to this week’s update on The Journey Of 2. Jamie and I appreciate all of you who take the time to follow our journey as we serve God in Costa Rica.
I don’t know if Jamie has mentioned this in a previous posts, but we started taking dance lessons about a month ago. Partly to get in some more exercise but mostly to do something together that would be sort of a date day.
We do pretty much spend 24 hours a day, seven days a week together, but quite a lot of that time is spent doing different activities in the same place.
While serving at Casa Esperanza, Jamie concentrates on serving the Red Zone ladies, while I man the door and perform various maintenance tasks.
At home Jamie is often teaching while I am doing chores around the house.
We do take walks together, but what use to be five to six times a week has dwindled to two to three times. We’ve filled our walking time with ‘stuff’.
So, the dance lessons are mostly so that, at least once a week, Jamie and I can focus on each other.
In other news, just today we learned of a family in San Isidro who’s house has burned down resulting in the loss of just about everything they had. Our Bible Study group is in the process of gathering donations to help this family. For our part (TJO2) we have committed to providing food for the family. Our first trip to the store for them is planned for tomorrow.
We’ll give you more details about this family in future posts.
Please continue to follow our journey as we serve the Lord in Costa Rica.
