Fundraising for Maynor

Learning English on the island is much more than knowing a second language. It can be the difference between having a future and not. With tourism being such a heavy industry, English is essential to have opportunities on the island.

Maynor, one of Jamie’s students, has been taking classes on the side with Jamie to help enhance his English and secure a future for him and his family. To help with this, Maynor is going back to get his GED. We are asking that you prayerfully consider donating to help Maynor receive his GED.

The cost for Maynor to go back and receive his GED is $550. This includes the registration fee, books, uniform, projects and additional costs. Half of the amount is due in a lump sum prior to him starting. If God has placed it on your heart to donate to this cause, please donate via PayPal to thejourneyof2@ gmail.com

I always have some funny stories from school …yesterday was a pretty sweet one. I wore long shorts to school instead of a skirt ( I always wear skirts to school) So one of my students came up to me yesterday and said “Miss Jamie you love the short ?” And I said yes Maylene but just for today I don’t wear them all the time. She was like very surprised and said “oh you look beautiful.” Just one of the fun things about living here is listening to the kids. Between my clothes and my looks sometimes They don’t know what to think of me but it makes life even more interesting
