Morning Prayer: Jesus, Your name is a holy chorus that stills and focuses the human heart. Please quiet the clanging cymbals of life’s demands that clatter in our minds. Refill us with joyous sounds of Your voice. One word from You, Lord, and the lame leap, the crippled pirouette, and those bowed down rise to stand on tiptoes. We are at times lame with limitations, crippled with cares, and bowed down with life’s heaviness. We long for Your dance-producing presence and wait for the dawn of joy within us. Amen.
Morning Prayer:Gentle Savior, forgive our brash manner when we flurry into Your presence with demands. Teach us to kneel before we petition You, lest we remain insensitive to Your heart. May we learn from the gentleness that surrounds us- the morning breeze, the dove’s coo, the snowflake’s flutter, the fragrance from a crushed rose petal, the down in a nest. All around us are Your fingerprints of gentleness. May we too leave a gentle imprint on our abrasive society. We all long for the comfort only Your gentle touch can bring. Amen.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
“The wonderful thing about Scripture is that you can’t exhaust divine truth. It’s dimensional. A verse can unfold one way at a certain point in your life, and then unfold another way at a different time. That’s part of the illuminating mystery of God’s words and His ways.”-Excerpt from Catching Fireflies
